4How does Ordering and Delivery work?
We’re a family-owned farm producing artisan grass fed beef and lamb hampers, packed typically once or twice a month. Delivery times depend on animal readiness and seasonality, with orders placed anytime and delivery dates communicated upon order. Hampers are transported via refrigerated trucks and must be accepted by someone—not left unattended. We send reminder emails and texts but delivery timings can vary from 7 AM to 7 PM. Our customers value our raising practices: 100% grass fed, chemical free, and free from veterinary drugs or pesticides.
5Will my Hamper be delivered chilled or frozen?
Most deliveries in NSW and ACT metro areas are chilled, including Newcastle, Central Coast, Illawarra, and Tamworth. For VIC and QLD, hampers arrive frozen due to transit times. Some regional deliveries (e.g., North West NSW, Mid-North & North Coasts) may also be frozen. Freezing preserves freshness without compromising quality.
6Will my Hamper be delivered to my home?
In metro cities, delivery is to home or work provided someone is available to receive it. Unattended hampers returned to courier will incur full return charges billed to customers. Alternatively, hampers can be delivered to local businesses with cool rooms for collection, especially in rural areas.
7How are Hamper prices calculated?
Hampers have set prices based on expected volume and approximate weights. Variations in final weight occur due to natural differences in animals but don’t affect price per hamper. Price per kilogram is provided as a guide for comparison.
8How do I pay for my Hamper?
After ordering, you receive an invoice payable by internet banking, direct deposit, or credit card via a secure gateway. Card payments include a surcharge. Payment is required before delivery.
9Can I customise my hamper?
We cannot fully customise hampers. Minor changes like extra sausages or removing an item may be possible, but we cannot swap items due to allocation fairness.
10How is our grass fed beef & lamb packed?
Each portion is vacuum sealed, labelled with cut, weight, and best-before dates. Hampers arrive in sealed recyclable cardboard boxes. We aim to transition to biodegradable packaging when viable.
11Do we provide any Paleo options?
Most cuts suit paleo diets. Paleo beef sausages free from flour with sea salt and spices are available but are dense and lose fat when cooked. Lamb sausages are grain-free but not strictly paleo due to potato starch. Paleo option selection is easy during ordering.
12Is our grass fed beef & lamb preservative free?
Yes, all our beef and lamb products are preservative free.
13Are our Sausages gluten free & preservative free?
Yes, sausages are preservative and gluten free. Beef sausages use rice flour to retain fat; lamb sausages use potato starch. Sausages come in packs of nine, with options for thicker sizes on request.
14What are the ingredients in the non-paleo sausages?
Beef sausages: grass fed beef, gluten free rice flour meal, non-iodized sea salt, spices, herbs, beef collagen.
Lamb sausages: grass fed lamb, potato starch, non-iodized sea salt, dried rosemary, natural casing.
15Do we provide grass fed beef or lamb bones for stock and broth?
Yes, collagen-rich bones are available as hamper additions (min. 2kg) or occasionally separately. Bones are vacuum sealed and best frozen if not used immediately. Delivery of bones alone incurs full courier fee.
16Do we provide grass fed beef or lamb offal?
Offal is offered when available and includes oxtail, liver, heart, kidney, beef cheeks, tongue, and suet. Pricing is per kg and included in hampers. Delivery of hampers with offal may require freezing.
17What is offal?
Offal means internal organs including tail and cheeks for simplicity.
18Are our cows or our sheep vaccinated?
We do not vaccinate our animals. Vitamins A, D, and E may be given in dry seasons before calving to ensure quality colostrum, a practice recommended by experts for natural cattle health.
19Are we halal certified?
No, our animals are not halal certified as processing facilities do not provide this certification. We serve customers across all beliefs.
20Are we certified Grass Fed?
All animals are 100% grass fed and finished on diverse pastures. We emphasize pasture diversity above certification. Our farm is not certified grass fed but practices exceed simple certification standards.
21Are we certified organic?
We produce chemical-free (organic) beef and lamb but are not certified organic. Historical factors prevent certification. We do not use vaccines, pesticides, or herbicides, favoring biodiversity and natural minerals for animal health.
22A few tips about storing your grass fed beef and lamb…
Freezing preserves shelf life and freshness. Mince and sausages should be frozen soon after delivery due to exposure. For large hampers, partially freeze then repack to avoid frozen blocks.
23What to expect when you receive a hamper…
Leaner cuts may discolor vacuum-packed due to myoglobin but this is normal and safe; color returns after exposure to air. Some vacuum-packed beef may have slight odors that dissipate quickly. Refrigerated transport is used to maintain freshness.
